Before he was a well-known artist, Jean-Michel Basquiat was just your average starving artist painting on the streets of Soho. This biographical film focuses on his rise to fame, in which he created some of the most influential works of modern art in New York City during the late '70s and early '80s. One of the most notable aspects of this film is that it was directed by legendary artist Julian Schnabel himself.
