 Team Building Activities

Team building activities are designed to create a productive environment, with a group of people working together in a positive way. A team building activity can be used in groups of two or twenty and is beneficial for both the team and its members. Below, we've highlighted several activities that we recommend for you to try.

1) Treasure Hunt: A treasure hunt requires participants to find clues leading to the treasure location. This can be an outdoor or indoor hunt and can have multiple levels of clues. This is a great way to start a team building event because it teaches participants to work together and be patient as they try to find the treasure.
2) What's in Your Hand: In this activity, participants are given a series of clues, each with a hand gesture that will lead them to the answer. It encourages participants to communicate with each other and understand how their team mates think.
3) Balloon Relay: For this game, participants must work in teams of two or three people consisting of one person who is blindfolded and two others guiding them. After the blindfolded person is guided to a starting point, they will be given a balloon and told to pass it between themselves, back and forth until the "tag" is made by catching the opposing team's balloon. This game will help your group with communication and trust.
4) Treasure Hunt: In this game, people are assigned into teams of three or more that are all given one goal: find a hidden treasure in the designated area., The catch is that nobody knows who holds the map except for those who have it in their hands.
5) Icebreaker: In this game, members of each team are given words such as "sophisticated", "comfort", "happy" etc. and told to give their teammates these words. The goal is to see who can create the most meaningful conversation with their team mates by finding the most positive words that describe what they do and don't like.

6) Blindfolded Tug-of-War: In this game, players are given one end of a rope, both ends are tied together and passed around in a circle until each player has both ends. The other team then tries to pull their opponents closer to them thus causing them to lose the rope. This is an example of a teamwork game that requires physical coordination, risk perception and decision making skills.
7) Think Fast!: This game is about speed, reflexes and a bit of luck. At the start, team members are given three cards that contain ideas or "buzzwords" that they have to think of under a minute. The catch is that you can only say these words out loud! Teammates are then supposed to guess what the buzzword was based off of clues given by their teammates.
8) Worry Stones: In this game, participants must work together with their team mates in order to create something out of random materials. For example: building a giant mosaic made out of 100 worry stones (you can create your own by gluing doilies or other similar objects onto tiles).
