Confident at Cold Calling? A Reality Check on Postive Thinking
This article is based on the concept of positive thinking, and it presents several misconceptions about the topic. The post argues that while positive thinking can produce a happy or optimistic state of mind, negative thoughts can also be useful in helping to achieve a specific goal. It provides examples of how some people with bad luck will use negative thinking for their own benefit rather than dwelling on their fate.
Some people have asked me why I talk about negativity so much, even though I talk about it in both good and bad ways throughout my writing. Some people have told me that I should just be positive, and that negativity has no place in my writing or my life. There are those who truly believe in the concept of positive thinking, and they will say things like: “Be confident at all times!” “Think positively!” “Always believe in yourself!”
There are a number of people who will say that being positive all of the time is a good thing, and that negativity does nothing for anyone. There are even those who will say negative things about those who make jokes at another person's expense, with the reasoning being that it is retribution for what happened to the speaker. “You shouldn't say things like that because it's the same thing as bullying!” “It's just as bad, if not worse!”
First of all, the act of negative thinking is not the same as bullying. Bullying is rooted in exploiting someone for personal gain and using that person to boost your own self-image. It can be subtle or overt in its approach, but a bully will use any means necessary to get what he wants without caring about how he affects others. That being said, this article will only focus on negative thinking at work and how it can be used to handle certain problems most people encounter on a daily basis.
The term positive thinking is often used to describe a general attitude in which one strives to see things as they are and maintain a positive, upbeat outlook on life. Positive thinking is associated with the idea that one should focus on the good while ignoring the bad, or at least attempting to find the good in negative things instead of dwelling on them. This idea of enjoying life and looking for ways to be happy seems like it would be more applicable to everyone. There are a lot of people out there who believe that negativity is never useful, not even for those people who suffer through difficult times.
The truth is that negativity can be useful in a number of situations. Anybody who has had bad luck will tell you that the best thing to do at times like those is to consider what one could learn from it. There are some people who are so good at turning negative situations into something positive that they have a good sense of humor about it, and they may actually use their experiences as the basis for jokes.
Many people with bad luck use their negative experiences to improve themselves while others just wallow in pity or resentment over the things they have lost. From this perspective, positive thinking is just a way to look at things from a different angle and find opportunities that were once hidden from view. Nobody wants to see themselves as a victim, and they will try to find ways to get back on their feet even when life throws the worst situations at them.
Another thing that many people do not consider is that positive thinking can simply be used to hide bad thoughts or feelings. For example, a job interview can make someone feel excited about the possibility of getting a new job, but it can also make that same person feel terrified about whether or not he will get rejected in the end. There are many people who use positive thoughts as a way of avoiding confrontation with negative outcomes and persuading themselves into believing things will turn out alright in the end.
How an individual views their own life is a big part of how they will handle different situations. If someone has a positive outlook on life, then they may be more likely to have positive thoughts in the face of adversity. However, those same positive thoughts can also lead to complacency and the feeling that everything in their lives will always turn out right in the end. Those people who look at life through rose-colored glasses may not be as proactive as those who are willing to think negatively about every situation they face on a regular basis. Some people believe that negative thinking is bad, but it can actually be useful in many different ways.
What people should realize is that there are certain situations in which negativity is necessary for improvement or growth. If a person is angry, they need to learn to contain that anger or it can damage their relationships with other people. If a person is depressed, they need to accept that feeling as something other than what it actually is. So long as the negative feelings are used for personal growth and not self-pity, then negativity can be useful in many different ways.
The truth about positive thinking is that everybody will use this concept for good reasons and bad reasons. On one hand, people will believe that everything will turn out alright in the end because of their positive outlook on life. They may even convince themselves of this fact by spending time around others who also have similar views of reality. On the other hand, people will use positive thinking as a way of hiding from their own weaknesses and the things that are most likely to go wrong in the future.
The next time someone gets you down about feeling negative or makes you feel guilty for having a bad attitude, just remember that negativity can be useful when it comes to thinking about problems. At times like those, think about what would happen if you used your negativity for good instead of self-pity or being angry at others. Yes, being negative can be bad at times and hurtful to others, but it is also an important way to find solutions when things are looking bleakest in your life.
In the end, strive to find a balance between positive and negative thinking. A bad attitude can make you feel worthless or helpless, but it can also push you towards finding new opportunities or taking advantage of opportunities that others miss out on. That being said, don't let your negativity turn into something destructive that hurts those around you. Channel it in a way that will improve your life overall.

Conclusion - Do You Agree With My Thoughts On Negative Thinking?
In conclusion, I believe that learning how to think negatively can be a very useful tool to save your life in many different situations. However, there are times when negative thinking can be bad for your health and for others around you. The only thing you need to do is find a way to deal with your negative thoughts so that they don't turn into something more serious than just complaining about things.

I totally agree that "thinking negatively" has some utility. The problem lies in what people mean by "negatively".
